Anyone know why the creators of the game didn't create a random civ option for players to choose when selecting their civ...(similar to the standard or asian maps selection)? For those who like a bit of randomness...it would've been a nice addition in my opinion. | |

that was the point of my post hehe takis your logic makes no sense, obviously there would still be the option to pick your civ, otherwise itd just be stupid, but for people who have some proficiency in all civs, theyd have decks for all of them, so they would like this option. i suppose the real answer to this question is that very few people, if any on GR, play every civ. i only really play 3 or 4, and i know most people tend to have around 5 or 6 civs that they are somewhat comfortable with. i know players like hastings and dust and maybe deathboy would be able to have some fun doing this, but i dont think the game designers thought it would be applicable to very many players, and it really isnt it would be pretty cool though, youd be able to get a feel for every civ better than my way of learning to be good, which is play one civ until you are really good at it. | |

In aoe2, there was random civ, anyone could observe any game and talk to playing guys, and you could play several players with same color (not really used… but funny, one could eco the other micro army). Apparently all this made aoe2 suck (that's why it was such a major game failure :tongue:) so game creators decided to remove that… *sigh* Honnestly I never understood why they removed good working features | |

I think they should make it so you can have more than 2 teams. Like team 1 team 2 team 3 and team 4. That way you could do 2vs2vs2vs2 instead of 4v4. | |

Yeah these options would be very nice especially in custom games so you could have like team 1, team 2. team 3, and team 4. Is someone able to make that happen in a patch? | |

Things such as the random civ option and 2vs2vs2 are in AOM also. I wonder why they changed it. It would make the game much more interesting. | |

I have an idea if you're so desperate: 1: Take a piece of paper and write down all the civs 2: Tear the paper so that each civ is on its own individual paper 3: Place the seperate pieces of paper in a hat or similar item 4: Pick a piece of paper out of this magical machine The beauty of this is that it is reusable, and steps 1 & 2 are interchangeable. You can thank me later. | |
